H and I saw Rise of the Guardians last week. It was really funny and heartwarming. I saw that it was based on the Guardians of Childhood book series.
I decided to get the series for my nephew. He's eight and an advanced reader (::takes a moment to pat myself on the back for my part in this:. Anyway, I always read what I get for him to make sure it's appropriate. While I had no doubt that this series would be appropriate, out of habit, I started reading the first one. It's really good, cute and simplistic, but good.
I had a point to this post. I guess I just thought I would recommend it for those looking for books for their kids. I hadn't heard of the series until the movie.
FYI - the actual series is different than the movie.
Thanks for the recommendation. Every once in a while someone asks me for suggestions for children's books (I'm a librarian) and I'm always clueless (I'm a COLLEGE librarian).
