I don't feel bad for people that do stupid things with credit and debt. Stuff like co-signing loans, taking out too many student loans, racking up credit card bills, yadda yadda.
Last UO, I find so much irony in those that criticize co-workers for things like showing up late, long breaks, and other random crap yet the OP of the thread is chatting here all day. Okay so someone else is as unproductive as you?
And to the SAHMs, how do you find time to be here all day too? If I'm not on the floor playing with my kids, I'm cleaning, making meals, running errands, etc. it's endless activity here. It boggles my mind how some are in here all day with kids at home.
I'm either walking around the house wearing a cranky baby GBCNing on my phone. Or I'm sitting, nursing, using my phone.
While it may be commonplace to have sex w strangers, that doesn't make it less gross to me. I'm surprised its so widely accepted, and even embraced?
I'm hoping there's a misunderstanding! I'm not saying having sex, and exploring sexuality is bad or wrong. I'm saying its gross to do so with strangers. With STDs as a primary concern, and secondary that you're being intimate with someone with which you have no clue about their character as a person. It could be a rapist, someone that beats women, someone that collects felonies as a sport, who knows. That unknown sounds dangerous and unappealing. Call me a prude, asshole or whatever but I'd hope to God my daughter chooses her partners more discriminately than the young women you speak of today.

I hope the same thing for my daughter. Still, if she is an adult and practicing safe sex I have a problem with the slut talk or judgement.
Clearly you are better than us. Why are you wasting time on a Saturday on here instead of being with your precious kid?
Why the snark? My response was to Jenny1980 who questioned my ability, or lack thereof to complete tasks in a timely manner. I'm not better than anyone.
It's fine that you don't want to have sex with people you don't know well. It's gross to judge women who choose to act differently. It pisses me off from a historical perspective, especially. Shaming women for having consensual sex feeds into keeping women down & inferior to men.

I'm not advocating to shame women who have consensual sex. The issue isn't about consensual relations, it's about who those relations are with. I'd tell any guy friend the same thing. Why would a man risk having sex with someone that could be crazy, diseased, looking to get pregnant or any other number of things you wouldn't know by having sex with a stranger?
So what is the appropriate amount of time to learn that? I mean lots of people hide STDs even those in committed relationships. Even women in committed relationships could try to get pregnant against the man's wishes. Being in a committed relationship doesn't automatically mean all those things aren't going to happen.

I always have them fill out an application about their past sexual history and life goals ( to weed out the low class losers), then I require that they submit a copy of their STD tests, their last mental evaluation, and a 150 word essay on how to avoid conception. I also give them a pop quiz that contains 100 true or false questions about me, to gauge how well they know me.

I guess I just don't get why having sex with someone you don't know all that well = something being wrong with the people involved. Can't people just like the thrill of it all without having some deep underlying issue?
I will advise my future kids that they should save themselves for someone that treats them with respect. I will tell them that they should use protection and be safe. I will tell them not to get into unsafe situations (i.e. don't go back to the house of someone you don't know or don't get into the car of someone you don't know).
Just because I'm curious, isn't the point of an Unpopular Opinion thread to safely post what would otherwise be unpopular opinions?
I'm not defending anyone or any statements, and I definitely am not looking for an online fight, but just let me know because if it's just a way to find out who thinks differently to you so you can attack or flame them, I'll know to not post on them anymore. Not in the mood for online fights (or any fights) these days.
Then I don't think I'll be posting on them anymore. Thanks for the honest reply.
No problem. Sorry if whatever someone said upset you! Internet fighting can be fun if you don't take it seriously.
No one specifically upset me, but fights in general aren't fun to me and I am definitely not a fan of name calling. I think we as women should pull each other up, not push each other down. I don't think there is anything worthwhile or redeeming in Internet fighting.
But that's me. If it's not the prevailing attitude on here, I think I'll go back to lurker status and find another board that better suits my personality and beliefs.
