I didn't think much about it, but the unsuccessful cycles are making me doubt myself.
My cycles have always been irregular; anywhere from 28 to 40 days (last month was a strange 48 day cycle).
Dr. Google told me I should see a gyn right away.
What do you all think? Are your cycles consistent? Should I make an appointment? I wouldn't be looking for intervention, maybe just a test to see if things are normal and some advice on how to proceed.
I tried charting a couple months ago but it really stressed me out. I wasn't sleeping well. I want to try it in January when DH is out of town all month (no pressure then and I won't wake him up!). But I'll have just arrived back from the states, so my sleep will be a bit messed up at first.
Potato. I forget -- are you just coming off some form of hormonal birth control? If so, it can take several cycles for things to get back to normal. If not, and it were me, I would probably see a doctor about cycles that varied between 28-48 days. It might not mean that anything is "wrong" per se, but there may be non-hormonal ways to regulate your cycles that could help with TTC.

might try anyway...
If you can handle it, I'd chart so you see can what is actually going on. Then if you aren't ovulating or your lp isn't good you can take that info to the dr.

I have very irregular periods. I charted for 3 months and after 3 months with no ovulation (and not recently on birth control pills) my ob/gyn got started with fertility testing.
I do. My period comes anywhere between every 25-35 days. It used to be every 21-25 days so I'm in favor of my current situation given the choice (which of course I'm not ).
FTR, I'm not trying to get pregnant at this moment in time. However, I'm having some serious baby fever. H and I will TTC in 1-1.5 years.

I do - mine were 28-45 days. We made sure to BD at least EOD from CD10 pretty much through day 45 (or I got my period). It wasn't that fun, but worked for us. I would also rec charting if you aren't.

Holy Hell :-| I could not do this, I don't think. And I love me some sex. I applaud your commitment!

Seriously, that's impressive. That's one of the hardest parts about this, having such a large window to aim for. But it's really comforting to know that you have similarly irregular periods and still had success!
For PPs questions, I've been off BCP for almost four years now. That's not the issue. And the 48 day cycle was definitely an outlier. I thought it was due to the stress from trying to chart last cycle.
I'll try charting in January, just to get some ideas. At least you guys have reassured me that I don't need to run off to the doc at this point. Thanks!
