My husband told me I make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches like an "asshole."
I put the peanut butter on one slice of bread, and then I put the Jelly right on top of the peanut butter and mush it together with my knife when I spread it around. Then I top with the other piece of bread.
He says that you're supposed to put the peanut butter and jelly and different slices of bread before you close the sandwich.
I put peanut butter on one side, and then the jelly on the other. But I also use two different knives because I don't like them touching before the bread is put together, so I may not be the best one to ask. ;D

Does anyone remember Goobers? The peanut butter and jelly in the same jar? Do they still make that?
I used to beg my mom to buy that for us when we were little. I bet my husband would have a heart attack. I think I'll put it on the shopping list just for shits and giggles.

I do remember these, though I could never bring myself to buy them (see the too OCD about them touching post above.)
I also remember Crustables, where they came pre-made, and frozen, and you would put them in your lunch box, and they would be defrosted by lunchtime. Only my friend proved they really just turned into a squishy mess in your lunchbox by lunchtime.

I don't like jelly, so I use honey or syrup.
True story. At the nursing home, one of the patients wanted pb&j, but only a half. So she asked the attendant there to make her one, with pb on one half of a slice of bread, and jelly on the other half. The lady put pb on one SIDE of the bread, and jelly on the other. The poor old lady was so confused. She couldn't figure out how to fold it! These are the people in charge of the elderly.
When I make grilled cheese, I use one American cheese slice, and some shredded cheese. Cheesiest grilled cheese ever!
I once made a pb&j for my husband and I put pb on both slices of bread and jelly on one side. He accused me of trying to choke him to death, so I guess I make them even worse!
Also, more cheese is always the right answer. One slice in a grilled cheese? What a rip off!
when i make PB&J I put peanut butter on both slices of bread and Jelly on one, I just say that the peanut butter keeps the jelly from getting the bread soggy.
