I really enjoy Emily Giffin books, like "Something Borrowed", "Love the one you're with" and I can't think of the others. I don't think they are my all time favorite but they were definitely good
I really loved the Historian by Elizabeth Kostova (sp) and the Game of Thrones series (George R. R. Martin). My all time favorite is Bradbury's Farenheit 451.

Of the last year? I've read a lot of good books this year. I enjoyed the Game of Thrones series, but they're incredibly dense. On the other end of the spectrum, I really loved the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. It's very fluffy and fun.
Divergent and Insurgent by Veronica Roth were really good if you're into young adult dystopian fiction.
2012: Toss up between S Pinker's The Better Angels of Our Nature: Why Violence Has Declined and G Colvin Talent Is Overrated: What Really Separates World-Class Performers from Everybody Else
Also, Heath & Heath Switch: How to Change Things When Change Is Hard is fantastic if you are even remotely interested in business psychology or philosophy type books

Fav of 2012: The HElp (yes, I was late in reading it)
Fav all-time doesn't compute. Bel Canto, A Thousand Splendid Suns come to mind for general fiction. I've been enjoying Alan Bradley and Andrea Camilleri for mysteries this year. George RR Martin and Robin Hobb for fantasy series. Alison Weir for Tudors fix. Classics are usually topped by Les Miserables and Watership Down.
2012: 11/22/63 by Stephen King. I'm sure I read others I liked but that one stands out.
Of all time, I'd probably say the Harry Potter series. But I'm really bad at picking favorites and if you asked me this question next month, I'd probably answer differently. I usually either like or dislike things but have trouble ranking how much more I like/dislike something than another thing.
Charlotte's Web (I've read it over and over! I love reading it to my students) Where'd You go Bernadette (I read a lot this year, for me anyway! And this book was by far the best, I actually laughed out loud at some parts. I think the ending could have been better, but overall it was the best for the year!)
Recently: "And the Band Played On" It's new to me. But not new at all (published in the 80s). It's about the beginning of the AIDS epidemic. It was riveting and I couldn't put it down.
I am bad at reading books when they first come out, so I can't really answer this past year. Unless "Is everyone hanging out without me?" by Mindy Kaling counts. She's hilarious.
But, this year I loved "The Chaperone" by Laura Moriarty and "Coco Chanel: The Legend and the Life" by Justine Picarde.
Get the Coco book (if you decide to read it) from the library or purchase it, because it has great photographs and I'm so glad I didn't get it on my Kindle.
The Coco book is fascinating from not just a fashion perspective but also how she built her empire across the 1900's.
Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! I've heard lots of great things about A Prayer for Owen Meany, and after it being mentioned here a few times again, that might be next on my list.
