I just realized, I rarely say bye on the phone. I had to call and check on an order I placed and the woman said "thank you, have a great day" and I said "thanks you too" and then hung up. With my H, I usually end with "love you too".
I guess I don't say goodbye anymore. Now I wonder if I have been hanging up on people if they took the time to say bye. How do you end your conversations?
I use "love you" and "bye" interchangeably with my mom, H, and BFFs (which makes up the majority of my phone time). I am always worried I am going to say "love you" instead of "bye" to a client or something.
Me too. Even if I'm saying "love you" or "have a good day" I still say bye. It ends the call. Not saying it is awkward and in some cases comes across as rude.
Several conversations at work yesterday confirm that I often don't say bye and nobody I work with does either.
But the conversations tend to be along the lines of "Can you head down to my office to talk about the letter?" "Sure, I'll come right down!" I think bye is kind of awkward when you'll see the person 30 seconds later.
