Do you tend to just buy whatever to use them? Do you swap them with other people for cards you prefer? Do you re-gift them? Do you just forget about them & end up wasting them?
I'm tempted to try to swap them on one of those sites but I'm not sure their values are high enough to put a lot of effort into it.
I have also sold one in store. I went to Macy's and couldn't find anything. I saw a woman with a cart full of stuff and she bought it from me. Just had the cashier verify it first.

I keep meaning to go on a gift card shopping spree, but never have. :-( I have one from the Gap from 1994, when I drove my friend to his med school interview in Syracuse, lol.
I need to swap them or something. We have two for Bass Pro Shops and two for PetSmart. There is nothing at BP I would want to buy and we order our dog's food and she is too old to want to play with toys are anything.
I don't usually have this problem, but if I did, I would try to use them to buy gifts for other people.
As for your specific cards, I would use the Pottery Barn card to buy Christmas decorations for myself (maybe wait until after Christmas if you're thinking of doing this), or maybe some picture frames. Or really, anything; I would have no problem using a Pottery Barn GC. Starbucks I would probably just give to my sister, as I have a different favorite coffee place.
The only ones that sit in my wallet are grocery store and gas cards. DH does a lot of the grocery shopping but always forgets to use gift cards and they aren't usually places I go regularly. Any other type of gift card, I use as soon as I get the chance and if I can't find something I like in store, I'll stock up on basics or find something online.

maybe some of you could by things and donate the goods to giving tree kids or the animal shelter, as an option to selling or getting the holiday budget down.
I, sadly, aspire to have this problem - no one really ever gives me gift cards

This makes me feel better about the Home Depot card I still have from 2007. Good thing gift cards don't expire in my state!
