He can't win, but he will pull moderates. The wingnuts will still vote for their wingnut candidate, but some liberals might swing toward Bloomberg, too.
I fear Gary Johnson for the same reason.
Makes sense.
I'm pretty freaked out about both sides, honestly.
Pretty strict. We made sure anyone who was going to have contact with him for more than a few minutes had a whooping cough vaccine. Flu wasn't really an issue when he was born.
If it was someone I was more friendly with, I would not pass it up! But even though I'm (in my opinion) fucking delightful, I'm not MILs favorite person. And we've had some spirited discussions before about how I don't think Obama is Satan.
Then you've got nothing to lose!

Yeah, I really don't know that I'd have a problem distancing myself from a Trump supporter.
My H has never not eaten any part of a meal. I can't even think of something he wouldn't touch.
Same. There are certainly things he doesn't prefer, so I make them less frequently, but he always eats what I serve. I can't think of anything I could make and know he wouldn't eat any of it.
MIL once asked DH and BIL what the difference was between panda bears and koala bears.
I really don't think kix and Cocoa Puffs are any more the same than any other cereal. I mean, all cereal is similar, but Cocoa Puffs are bigger than kix, I think. Anyway, that one just confused me.
Wellllll cheerleading is more expensive at our school because they pay more for competitions, music, etc etc
This wouldn't bother me if not for the "girls! We have a spot for you" deal. That's grosd
I know what you're saying, but I really don't think a person who is cheering for peewee football is going to expensive cheer competitions. I am totally making that judgment based on the flyer though.
Does anyone know if there will be criminal charges filed? They were talking about that on NPR this morning and the guy they were talking to basically said that everyone had been punished by being forced to step down. It doesn't seem like enough.
But I might as well have been using Monopoly money to figure out if the payments were "reasonable" because I'm calculating using money that doesn't exist in my bank account yet.
This is spot on. Sure, I could calculate my payments, but $700 a month doesn't mean jack shit when you've never had a full time job and you don't understand what it costs to rent an apartment, buy food for yourself, put gas in your car and pay insurance, and on and on.
There's a reason people struggle with finances and budgeting. There's a reason people make careers as financial advisors!
And we're asking 17/18yo kids to have a comprehensive understanding of how their financial future is going to look 5 or 10 years down the line? No. Come on.
At the school I worked at, the have a mandatory meeting you must attend in order to get financial aide. It goes over what you owe, how long it will take to pay it back, etc.
It's one of those things that seemed ridiculous to me, but I understand now why they implemented it.
I had a meeting like this 30 years ago at Boston College as a student. So I wonder if his memory is spot on about how it all went down (at least that part of it)
I have private and federal loans. I never attended any meeting like this. Thank God, I left school with minimal loans ($25k-ish), but no one really went over with me what those loans meant. I am an intelligent person and knew I would have to pay them back, but I didn't have a clue what that repayment would look like. Again, I am extremely lucky with my monthly payment and ability to pay my loans off in a reasonable amount of time.
At an absolute minimum, there needs to be a legal requirement that advisors (whether through the government or the school) meet with students to discuss the specifics of their loans and what the repayments truly mean. It's hard for an 18yo to fully comprehend what a $500 a month payment means to his or her budget.
I would also advocate less for free tuition and more for better federal funding to support educational institutions, along with reduced or capped interest rates for student loans. It's absolutely absurd that this guy has loans with 8 and 9% interest rates.
Have you asked if you can just pay them instead of your group participating in church activities? I'm not sure I'd be ok with that. Plus, how is the church going to decide what level of involvement is "enough" and what happens if you guys don't participate in the required number of activities.
Related: when do you give Tylenol vs Motrin? We have both and E is 6 months.
like others, we pretty much always do Motrin unless we're alternating for a fever. That's mostly because DH and I think ibuprofen works better in general.
Lately, DS has really great nights and really terrible nights. We went out last night with friends and DS woke up at 10. The babysitter couldn't calm him down and he was flipping his shit when we got home at 10:30. I nursed him and got him to calm down enough to go back to sleep, but I could tell he was still unsettled. He was then up at 1, 3, and 6. Not sure what time he woke for the day.
H said that DS wouldn't let him hold him at 1, but he did go back to sleep. I nursed him at 3 and he seemed ok, but still off.
I feel like we just give him motrin or tylenol in these situations because we don't know what else to do. Is that an ok approach? He's definitely teething, FWIW. I don't want to over medicate him, but I also don't want him to be uncomfortable/in pain.
Don't be nervous! Do you really want to go to another new restaurant? They don't have any stability!
So go with that attitude and know that you are hot shit
I don't, but so far it's the only place that's called me back.
They have a sister restaurant right across the street, so hopefully that's a good sign.
You might consider asking them what they do to advertise and bring in business. I think it would help show them that you're interested in being there long-term (doesn't matter if that's actually true) and that you're invested in the success of the restaurant. It also helps tie in why you're looking for another position.
