I feel so loved right now. I'm down for being a co mod. I think nomadic would be a great addition as a co mod as well. She always has such sound advice and tries to remain as neutral as possible in the face of blatant stupidity, something I have a tough time with.
I like the idea of keeping the MN initials. I like Military Nook or Niche.
Awww, you made me blush! If only you saw the responses that I delete thus don't post. Blatant stupidity makes me stubby, but having been a kindergarten teacher (many years ago), I've learned to be as gentle as possible (while angry thoughts scream through my head!).
And, I'm totally cool being vice mod. I'm not trying to thunder jack. You're doing a great job. If I were back in the states, I would not have made my offer. But, being six hours ahead, I thought it made sense--especially since other mods won't be able to edit.
Not a thunder jacker at all. I think we need two mods.

In my old house, I had windows similar to yours. I bought a wooden dowel that reached the length of the window. I spray painted it. I used 4 U brackets from Home Depot and hung the curtains on that. The wooden rods were far less expensive than tension rods or curtain rods.
TX, I made the voting through Wednesday so everyone would get a chance to vote, after that I can send the posts to one of the global mods and get you guys knighted or whatever. I'll let y'all deal with renaming the board/polls for that. I just wanted some structure and some knights!

There are so many things you can do with your daughter. I would recommend a dolphin tour. If you head out to Tybee, contact Captain Mike's Dolphin Tours. They are closest to the area best known for a ton of dolphins. They've also been around longer. If you want food out that way, I would suggest Sundae Cafe for lunch. The Crab Shack or Sting Ray's would be my dinner suggestions.
In town, look into a trolley tour on your first day. Head over to the Visitor's Center. There are several tour companies who offer two days for $10/person. You can get on and off their trolleys all day for those two days. It's a great way to tour around and check things out on your own. I'd forgo a big stroller and stick with an umbrella stroller. It's going to be really hot in August and you won't want to do a lot of walking. Great places to eat in town are Leoci's, SoHo South Cafe, The Boar's Head, Harris Baking Company, Mrs Wilkes, Sisters of the New South, Carlito's, Sushi Zen, jazz'd, SOL, Cha Bella and Churchill's.

$3000 a month for this woman to live with her? Holy crap! That is insane. The nicest, high end retirement home here is less than $2000 a month for a personal care home where there are nurses and doctors on staff but you have your own little apartment or cottage. Some one goes in every few days to clean for you. I'd honestly start looking into one of those places. She may enjoy it more. They have social times. They take field trips to the mall and other areas. The few here have salons in them to get your hair done. They play bingo and other games. They even have book clubs. Your family could get so much more for the money and she'd still be well taken care of.
