XP: WWYD re: telling work and lots of appts

I am just about 12 weeks (holy shit) and was planning on telling work right after my NT scan. I WFH most days and go into my office (3 hours away) 2 or 3 times per month. The hospital just rescheduled my NT scan from this week to next Tuesday because of a mix up in scheduling and I can't push it back any further due to how far along I am. I was supposed to be in the office on Tuesday to stay over for more important meetings on Wednesday.

Should I just tell my manager over the phone what is going on?
Take off Tuesday morning and drive straight down from my appt to work the other half of the day on Tuesday and tell her in person?

We are totally swamped at work so I feel bad taking the morning off but really want to do the scan. I've already had multiple appointments on my calendar recently.

She has two young children and I think would be very understanding, I was just hoping to not tell work until after the scan.

Also, how long does it take to get "results" from an NT scan?

I've just said I have a doctor's appointment so far and haven't gotten any interrogation after that!

For my office they told me at the Ultrasound part that "measurements look good" but there isn't a final result until they combine that with the blood test (3-5 business days for my doctor's office)

Ditto others, just say doctor's appointment for now and if she presses just say it's something timely and your doctor needs to see you that day.

I was going to ask how long it takes to get the results too so I'm glad you asked I go tomorrow!

No added advice on talking to your boss, but I got my results at my next appointment with my doctor (I want to say it was 2 weeks later. I'm assuming that they would have called if there was a problem though.
