The more we have thought about the apartment, the more we really like it. DH saw it on Wednesday, and he said it was amazing. The only downfall is that it doesn´t have a TV (the place is furnished). I am sure we could buy a cheap TV somewhere.
Anyway, it´s on the 16th story, and I think I am a little scared to live that high up. This is stupid, right?
If it's just the height issue, you won't even realize it and you'll get used to it. I've stayed in hotel rooms on higher up floors and don't even realize the height unless I walk over to the window and look straight down.
I've lived on the 16th floor and the 29th floor. I dislike heights so it takes me months to be able to touch the windows. I can feel the height even when lying in bed. I do get over it. The biggest issue is how many elevators are there and how fast are they. It sucks to wait forever.
The building is a little older, so the elevator is not speedy. There is only one elevator...well actually there are two, but one of the elevators only goes to the apartments that span the entire floor.

And if there is the big earthquake, well we are all just fucked, aren´t we?
Well, if you're on a lower level and a big earthquake takes down the building, there's more building on top of you. The higher up, the less can be on top of you.

I don't know if that makes you feel any better.
Sadly, I have thought about this. And really, if there is a big earthquake, it´s not really going to matter where we are or what building we are in, LOL.
