Today was payday. YAY!
So far I've paid the hospital for my ultrasound, the turn pike since my husband blew through a toll, the cable bill, the phone bill, the electric bill, the rent, and next up is our mortgage(yes we have both). I miss the days where payday meant pay mom $100 for my car payment/insurance, fill up my tank for $20 and the rest got blown on clothes, movies, food, etc.
Yeah, I really want to go get my nails done, but with all the christmas spending we've been doing, it's not in the budget. I really hate living pay check to pay check.
H gets paid on the 31s and the 15th. I get paid every other week on Friday. Right now, we get paid on the same day. I hate that. It makes the two weeks until my paycheck hit feel so far away.
I feel your pain. Daycare alone costs more than many people's mortgages! Wait...why are we having another one???
This is our first and I have stuck my head in the sand thus far with daycare. I'm terrified. I'm hoping DH and I will be able to work it out where we can each WFH a day or two during the week.

Even if you work from home, you will still likely need daycare on those days. I could never work and watch my kids effectively, even when they were babies.
I'd start looking around at options now, so you are prepared.

Oh I've looked at places online. Just not gone in and found out pricing, lol.
The couple days we work from home we wouldn't need day care because they'd essentially be days off. Well for me they would because I'm salary and just have to make sure I make my 80 hours, I can just put in extra hours the days when I'm at the office. DH would just be "on-call" so to speak for IT issues so unless it was something he had to come in for, he should be fine just caring for LO and answering the rare e-mail or phone call.

Please don't take this the wrong way, because I'm not trying to be a PITA. I'm just encouraging you to really think through your plan.
I have no idea what you or your DH do for work or what your daily tasks/responsibilities are, but if you are working 80 hours a week, I find it hard to believe you are doing that in less than 6 days/week. As for your DH, even if he only has to deal with a few phone calls/day, if the baby is screaming it will be very hard for him to focus, not to mention incredibly unprofessional with a screaming kid in the background.
Your plan may be totally reasonable. As I said, I know nothing about what you both do, but I urge to really think about it before assuming WFH is the ideal cost-saving situation.

No, I get what you're saying and I really do appreciate it! We're planning right now as if neither of us can be home because I travel a lot for work. So if I'm gone and he has to work LO will be in daycare. But if we can work it out so we're home a couple days, maybe even together, we'll take advantage when we can.
I was trying to explain it but it wasn't working, lol. When I'm home it will be time off/comp time for me.

We rent and own too.. Every time we pay mortgage and rent, I want to strangle MH for thinking buying a house a few years back while AD military was a good idea..
