Your pictures came out tiny, but from what I can see I would use color in the curtains. If you gravitate to more of a neutral look then look for curtains with a tone on tone pattern or something with some texture to it. Maybe even something like the curtains in the room you posted in the other thread (favorite rooms pip).
That blue would clash with the bedding. Its like a robin's egg blue, so "baby" blue stuff clashes big time.
I don't even know what color to add to the room. It has to be gender neutral...so far it's just grey, white, and black with the bedding being the only color. Dh says no to any sort of green.
agreed - something simple since the bedding is fairly ornate. Stripes would be good. Or a diamond/trellis kinda thing (as long as it's on the simpler side). Or even a small scale tonal pattern. Or a solid with an accent stripe somewhere.
As for color - take a break on your drapes for now and start looking at other stuff. Decide on art. let that guide your color choices. But it seems like you want to keep the colors fairly soft and neutral, so don't be afraid to stick with that if it's what you want - like the curtains linked above.
I don't think the color of the bedding is coming through in the pictures properly. it just looks gray on my screen, so it's hard to say what would look good with it.
You don't HAVE to work more color into the room though. You could do a darker slatey gray. Or just stick with white (nothing wrong with that).
He hates green. And he thinks the nursery is too masculine already and he is convinced we are having a girl.
I am stumped. This bedding seems to be a hard pattern/color to find anything that would coordinate.
I am beginning to think...DD has white drapes again in her new big girl room. Was thinking of stealing them for the nursery and getting her new, colorful drapes. Her room is ballet slipper pink, with some cute Pottery barn bedding in pink/green/yellow so I was thinking about getting her some yellow dotted drapes or something.
Then the nursery is still bland and boring though. Blargh.
I'm not sure I'm seeing your colors correctly, but would a capiz light fixture work? You could bring in some warm yellows/golds that would tie in nicely with vintage pictures from peter rabbit. It would also bring a bit of shimmer to the room without being too girly.
I'm pretty set on long drapes. I love the look. Every time I have just done a shade, I feel like the room is not finished. We have a white shade for the window, I just want drapes too... This is so hard... Starting to think I just slap up plain white drapes, and add some pattern with an area rug and colorful artwork.
I just wanted to say YAY that you are planning a nursery. I am not here much anymore and love this post! I think your ideas sound good! Maybe buy some artwork first and it will inspire you

if you aren't open to the soft yellow that was suggested, then i would definitely go this direction. you aren't limited to just the drapes to bring in the interest.
I don't think the bedding is reading true on my monitor, but from what it looks like here, I'd do a deep purple. Then again, I've been on a purple kick lately and have had to fight the urge to add touches of it everywhere. It's not very gender neutral either, although my DH has a purple shirt and looks damn good in it.
Oh, I just got these from Ikea. I plan to put them up in our living room which is kind of a bluey-green grey. It's got spots of purple in it without being overwhelmingly in your face PURPLE.
