I figured I'd share this for holiday weekend Friday. It honestly never occurred to me to treat a long flight like a spa opportunity, but I like the idea!
Also if anyone has any recs for good, comfy noise cancelling ear buds I'd love to hear about them.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. Mark Twain
That actually could be kind of fun on a long daytime flight or a trans-Pacific! These days I usually only have 8-9 hour flights, so overnight I already have to skip dinner to get a full sleep. But I'll keep it in mind next time I'm flying a daytime westbound trans-Atlantic.
Oh, for the earbuds, I'm happy with a simple pair of Skullcandy earbuds. They werent marketed as noise-isolating, but they work great for me (and i always switch to classic earplugs to sleep anyway). XH splurged on a pair of Shure and loved them to death.
Are you fucking kidding me? A beauty routine on a long haul? I figure as long as I sleep (with alcohol and pills) I'm doing well.
On a long flight my pores open up and my hair sticks to my head with static. I have tried using cleanser and stuff before, but nothing ever works, I just look like hell. Glad I'm not paparazzi bait.
