DD's room... She has white furniture, and this bedding from Pottery Barn.
Her walls are pale pink, and she has a chandelier that has some pink crystals. I think it's pink enough for me...no more pink or it will be overkill.
Her drapes are white...if I switch them out, I wanted to do yellow in a dot or a stripe. But Pottery barn doesn't have any drapes in yellow. Can't find anything cute for a kids room that is yellow on Overstock, West Elm, or half price drapes.com.
These are the drapes I want really bad. In yellow. But they don't make them in yellow.
If I cannot find yellow, what other color would you do? PB only has drapes in pink, lavendar, or green. I don't really want to bring in green. I'd love to do lavendar, but her bedding doesn't have any lavendar and her room has none either. Would it be too random? I could add in some lavendar accents I guess...but I really had my heart set on a cheery yellow!
I love the polka dot because it matches the fabric in her bedding. But I looked for other yellow drapes too and found none at any trusted websites that ship to Canada. A soft yellow or a yellow stripe would work too..
But we have no target, no JCP, no macys, etc. Sears and home depot are about it and both were duds. So online it is.
I vote yellow. You can buy the fabric and make them - either the dots, checks or stripes. You can even do this if you do not sew by using iron on tape on tape. Measure desired finished length - add 7 inches. Fold over 2 inches on top and use iron on tape. Fold over 1 inche on the bottom - press, then fold another 6 inches and use iron on tape . (You want the extra weight on the bottom) Add clip rings - and you are done. Much less costly.
Bed Bath and Beyond ships in Canada and they had these:
maybe a little too saturated though. Have you looked in store at Fabricland? They have a really big selection of ready to hang curtains/drapes. I bought some for DD1 there last month.
