I have a bathroom that is lime green. Like neon true lime green. The really old school high class nesties pretty much shunned me 8 years ago when I came up with that color. I did it anyways.
It's still one of my favorite colors in the house. I touched up paint and took half the wall art down (I'm on a "get this sh*t out of my house, no more clutter kick").
It's plain now but in a graphic sort of way.
The shower curtain is a paler shade of the green, aqua, red, pink, white stripes. I love it too. The art that's left is an antiquey pic of bandw pair of boxer shorts that says "HIS" and a long frame of the laundry signs everyone printed off years ago. (It's the mudroom bathroom and laundry room too.)
I just think it's becoming more my style. I just did a bit organization in our master/cleaned up and let the white shine through on the walls in the shower curtain etc. It's so fresh and clean with pale green towels and a wood bathmat.
Is this wrong? Somesort of style no-no?
I'm just rambling. I know a pic would help but I always dream this stuff up at work...lol.
I like bold color, I wish more people would take the jump and do it. I agree that bright and bold colors don't need as much wall art as neutrals do. They need a few things on the wall to break up the mass of color but I think it's easy to over clutter it.
It's naptime and I am finally relaxing and bored.. I only have a few more minutes though.
Rest up! What was supposed to be relaxing for me, turned out not to be..lol. I did my lunch/tree/earring getting with Rubes and H and then ended up having to go to work because some of my deliquents have to get a test in before all of a sudden. Dumb, but whatever. It's only 2 hours today, not even.
I like using color a lot. I like the big impact and I don't really like messing with small decor and accent stuff as much. I've never been good and vases and candles and throw pillows and switching them out all the time in a neutral room the way I feel you're "supposed" to.

When we moved into our rental house 8 months ago, we didn't hang anything on the walls since we though we would be here under 6 months.
I actually love it, and I can't think of anything I miss having on the walls. A significant portion of it will not be hung back up whenever we buy a house.
You know my navy guest room doesn't have a lot going on. Pretty much a drywall box with white linens - it's the dark paint that makes the room. I added some bold patterned textiles for personality, but really it's the wall color you notice.

I just emptied 3 rooms for the drywallers/ painters and I don't want to put most of the stuff back in the rooms!
I got similar reactions when I painted our guest room orange and gray I loved it. I still love the rug (also orange and gray) now that we are in our rental!
