Long story - H originally hung them precisely to the print from the kitchen designer (which has my signature on it approving the order), which showed no spacers and left about 2" between the window trim and the cabinets.
The cabinet on the far right of the photo in the run along the sink would then not open, because there's not enough room.
They sent spacers (which are not shown on the print) which make the run work when they're inserted, but it results in the cabinets being about 1/2" from the window trim on either side.
I think it's too close, but I also saw them hung with more space and liked that a lot better. I texted pictures to my sister and mom and they both thought they were fine. My sister thought once a window treatment is up or we hang a shelf between the two cabinets over the sink, it will visually balance out.
WDYT? Be honest. I would rather know now and try to fix it with the kitchen store than have it bug me for the next year and not have any recourse.
I will say that if you have it in your head that it's not right, you might want to get them to fix it anyway. I know personally even if everyone else tells me something looks fine, if I know that it should look different it drives me bonkers.
Looks fine to me. I'd let that battle slide. Your kitchen looks amazing so far! What did you pick for countertops?
Thank you!
We just got a laminate - Wilsonart Oiled Soapstone. It's a dark charcoal/slate color. This is an in-between house and $200K houses around here don't have solid surface, so it wouldn't be worth it.
And thanks, everyone, so far. I think I'm going to sleep on it for awhile, the kitchen designer is off on Mondays. It might be something that would have been just fine had I not seen it the other way first, LOL.
I would keep it. I have a small gap between the window and cabinets and all I can think is OMG how much of a PITA is it going to be to paint that little sliver of wall.

I've done it. It's a giant PITA...lol. And my gap is pretty wide. So I also vote keep it. For that reason alone.
i wouldn't look twice if you didn't point it out. it looks perfectly normal.
i'd probably let it go, but i'm easily convinced after i live with something for a few days. if it's going to bother you forever because it's not exactly what you wanted then change it now before everything is done done.
I really think once you get something up over the window (like the picture above), it'll look completely normal to you. I think when it's bare it may look a bit crowded to you.
