which light do you like better?

They're mini pendants for over the bar, I should have clarified. The kitchen just has recessed lighting.

They are open to each other, but it's a big room, not a breakfast nook. The bar is the peninsula in the kitchen (enough room for about 3 bar stools, overhang on the countertop).

I love the first one! Esp. for a kitchen.
The second one is a little too officey/library room for my taste but it's still nice.

Hmm. The shades on your dining room fixture look yellow to me, so I wonder if doing pendants with white glass would be weird???

I prefer a more straight shade to a flared or curved shade.

I see what you mean about the yellow/white - I haven't actually gotten the light yet so I'm not sure how it will look.

I agree with peach- I don't think I'd like the cool, white lights with the warm, almost amber light you ordered (though I like them both, not together as a coordinate). Lighting is so tough- especially online. It's so hard to know what they look like when they are on. Personally, I'd wait until I got the dining fixture- and hang it up, and then determine what pendants you want for over the bar.

Originally, I had ordered them for our basement bar, but they are a little bit too large to hang in a basement. I really loved them though (super pretty and inexpensive) so we decided to hang them over the kitchen bar (where we have a vaulted ceiling) and moved the ones that were in the kitchen downstairs.

I agree, it is very overwhelming to look at 157 pages of mini pendant lights. When I ordered these, I ordered 4 different sets of lights so I could decide after seeing them in person. The others just went back to the Home Depot store!
