The post you wrote on the "What do you think happens when we die?" thread was seriously one of the most beautiful things I have ever read. I know none of us know the answers, but the thought that it plays out how you described had never really dawned on me before, and speaks to both my "airy-faeire" and logical sides. So, I wanted to thank you for being so open and honest about your thoughts, and sharing them with us.

I thought that was neat, too.
What surprised me about that was that there were no atheists who believed in an afterlife, no one who believed in some advanced race archiving living beings' energy signatures Caprica-style, or a multiverse like The One ending in all distributed energy being centered on one universe where we aren't mortal (that one would actually resolve the religious debate between an omniscient deity and free will), or even anyone who believed in some sort of sentient existence as pure energy. It's pretty weird how closely deism and an afterlife seem to be linked.
It is really just beautiful, and really makes you think. In the grand scheme of things, this life could be merely seconds. It is very comforting. I grew up Catholic, and am now Agnostic, but this really makes a lot of sense to me. It is very thought provoking to say the least.
