I don't want a gigantic one; I have a bad back and don't like to lug extra weight around.
Baby Bargains recommends the Skip Hop and they seem to be popular - any opinions on the Dash vs. Duo? I have read some complains that some people think they're too small, but I'm also not an overpacker.
Price range ideally would be $75ish or under. I know there are really nice $200+ bags but I'm too cheap to spend that on a purse for myself, let alone a diaper bag.
We have the Dash. It fits what we need fine, but I'm in the middle of a warranty claim with them because after less than 6 months of use (2x/wk), the flap is coming unstitched where it attaches to the main bag.
I just got a JuJuBee Be Hip. Haven't used it yet but it seems like it'll be really convenient for our flight this week-nice and deep and has better flap snaps/magnets than the Skip Hop.

i looked at diaper bags like purses - everyone has their own things they like about certain ones.
for me, it had to be big (3 kids)... and I like a cool looking bag since i don't carry a purse much. I have had many of them over the past 5.5 years... i get a new one every 5-6 months or so.
I love Petunia Picklebottom bags - i have a weekender and a clutch and LOVE them both.
www.pinningtonbags.com is a favorite of mine- i have 2 of her bags (one for the beach)... well made and unique.
skip hop bags are great, too- i had the duo delux for a while after i had the twins - loved all the pockets, etc.

I use the Skip Hop Studio. Last time I used the Skip Hop Dash, but ended up not liking the messenger flap. Thought about using the Skip Hop Duo, but didn't like that I'd have to zip it fully every time or risk everything falling out if the bag tipped.
I have the messenger style skip hop. I wanted it b/c it looked less like a diaper bag and my H has to use it as often as I do. Now that DD is older I just use that skip hop quick change pad that can fit in my purse.
Brie and I have idential skip hop studios. I love mine, it is super cute and tons of storage space. I do wish the strap were just a smidge longer so I would feel more comfortable with it over my shoulder. It is kind of awkward to fit in the basket on my city mini stroller but I think any bag would be difficult to get in there.
I got mine for $39.99 last year when B&N had this crazy baby sale.
We had the Skip Hop Duo Deluxe and I did not think it big enough for cloth diapers, so I got the Skip Hop Studio, which is nice, but we now both like to use a backpack. It is so nice to have your hands free.
Check out this one, in the pattern "marvelous mums"... it's a really cute pattern (my friend has a different style in that print), and it's only $54. Plus, the shape is nice - more vertically oriented, and which will be less bulky/cumbersome.

Our friends have the Dash and told us multiple times that they do not like the magnetic flap.
We have the Duo and I love it. Plenty of room for all sorts of miscellany, including cloth diapers, and I don't find I need to pull everything out if I consciously pack it up. This style can often be found on sale at a great price.
Initially I wanted something fancy, like a Petunia Picklebottom, but I couldn't bring myself to spend that much money on a diaper bag. I'm really, really glad I held back.

I had a Skip Hop Duo. I really liked it. The strap was long enough that I could wear it crossbody. I really liked how it clipped onto the car seat. It would hold a lot of stuff and has a few different pockets to keep things organized. I washed it in the washing machine without the strap many times. The only bad thing was that I had a pink one and it got stained on the bottom from putting it on the ground. I can't complain because I got it for $25 at TJ Maxx. I am hard on diaper bags and went through 2 within the first year (Carters and some other one from Sears), but used the Skip Hop a lot longer.

My favorite actual diaper bag was a Petunia Picklebottom boxy backpack. I loved being able to carry it as either a shoulder bag or on my back, depending on my needs, and it had pockets for everything. Plus the newer ones supposedly have a detachable changing pad (mine was attached) which is even better. The main downside is that it was dry clean only so I really had to be careful about keeping it clean, but that wasn't too difficult.
Overall, though, I usually preferred to just carry a large purse instead of a "diaper bag". I also kept a bag in the trunk of the car with a spare outfit, extra diapers and wipes, etc. so that it was accessible most of the time (if I didn't have my car, I probably wasn't somewhere I was likely to need the stuff in the bag anyway) but I didn't have to tote so much around.
I have a LeSportsac diaper bag. It's super lightweight, doesn't scream diaper bag, has good storage, and I like that I can just wipe it down if need be.
My favorite is the JuJuBe Packable. It'a a back pack, which is what I was looking for with 2under2. It's not huge by any means, but big enough and I cloth diaper.
I initially bought the jj cole mode tote and I got really sick of hauling too much around with me all the time. Although now that DS is eating solids, I may switch back for a little while. Which is my other point, I've found that there's no such thing as a perfect diaper bag. (or stroller for that matter)
I have no need for a diaper bag. A slightly large sized purse is fine. I used a zip top tote or backpack for the daycare bag. But no way do I need or want to carry something that large.
I hated our Dash. It was pretty small, though fine for one baby. What I didn't like was that the stitching came undone very early into our use of it, and it would never stand up when placed on the floor or table. The front pockets allow the user to pack it unevenly, and it just flops over every time it's set down. I think this is a silly annoyance, but it is driving me to purchase a different bag, this time around.
