D has been very irritable all weekend. Last night, he woke up every hour screaming. I thought for sure he was super gassy.
Today, DH stayed home with him (he was planning on it anyway & worked out since he wasn't feeling well). DH reported that D was screaming until noon when he fell asleep.
I made an appt. with the pedi. Something wasn't right. While I was at work, a CW suggested gripe water. I bought some on my way home.
The pedi said it's just a cold. He'll be fine.
Now at bedtime, I get D his bottle. He starts to get fussy, so I decide to try the gripe water. No sooner do I finish giving it to him & the poor kid vomits everywhere.

I hope D is feeling better today, Jen! Poor little guy.
Sara- Beckett was supposed to take iron as a baby too, but just reading the warnings on the package petrified me. I told her I wasn't comfortable with giving it to him, and just made sure the food he ate were rich in iron, and the next time they checked his iron, it was perfect

I have no idea why these people what us to put kids on iron. Feeds them some cream of wheat (one they are old enough for solids), when they are eating fingure foods, sneak some spinach in there, some beans every once in a while once their tummys can handle it, and bam. Good iron.

Tasha did you ever get so far as to open the bottle? That is the most rank smell ever. Omg I could be sick thinking about it. I do exactly what you do with making sure our foods are iron rich. They checked her hemoglobin at 9 months and she was perfect too. Her Dr says he likes his breastfed babies to take iron because it helps with brain development, not necessarily for anemia, but I assume if their levels are good they're getting enough through foods.

Jen - It may be teething. We are going through something similar. I took him to the Dr last week cuz he was super fussy, rubbing his face and eyes, pulling on his ears. Dr said he is in perfect health and to give him 4 teething tables 3-4 times a day and Tylenol if he is super fussy. She said it takes a long time for the teeth to come in and every time they move up, they usually get fussy because it hurts.

I don't think I ever even opened the bottle. The risk warnings all over the insert, bottle and box it came in scared the crap out of me. I'd rather try to correct something with diet before medicine if possible anyways.
I don't even remember reading the warnings. I gave her one drop and threw it out. Geez no wonder she threw it up. Stupid iron drops
Jen I definitely agree with teething. Amelia turns into McCrankster as each one pops through and it's out of character for her so when she gets like that I know we are going to have a new visitor any day.
