I gave them to my nephews last Christmas when they were 3 and they played with them non-stop. Definitely get the 100 piece. They will play with them for years.
Definitely worth it. Kimi convinced me to buy them 3 years ago. My kids have literally played with them every day since. We started with 100 and order another box. I bought a box of 100 for my son's 1st grade classroom and my other son's pre-school aftercare.
Okay, arm-twisters. It doesn't look like they're easily available here. I will put them on the birthday list and maybe a visitor from the US can bring them to us in the spring. Or they can be a next Christmas present.
If Septimus's son in 1st grade is still into them, then I don't feel rushed.

I caught my nanny playing with them once when my son was napping.
There was a flood at the factory last year so they are hard to get so waiting until after christmas may make them easier to find.
And where's the best place to purchase Magna-Tiles? Amazon has a bunch of different sellers, none offer Prime, and all list the tiles at different prices.

If anyone is from Canada, you can order them from Mastermind toys. You used to be able to order them directly from the company, but now they sell them on Amazon.com and they won't ship this product to Canada
I can now make my confession since everyone has confessed their love of them. We have 3 of the 100 piece sets and the boys are each getting a 100 piece set from Santa (We can build huge towers with 500 pieces :-) )

Sorry guys, coupon was for a store local to me and pugz. They were still $100 after the coupon, hence why I say my DS better love them or I will never hear the end of it from DH (who bought DS Nerf guns for them to play with and is smugly convinced his gift is superior, hmph).
Learning Express sends out $20 off coupons regularly if you are on their list and carries them (if they are in stock. I googled them and found some random internet company that had them and then found a coupon code when I bought some a couple months ago for DS's teacher.

I got a coupon from Lakeshore Learning. I ordered the 32 piece set for my 4 year old nephew and even at that price-point I was spending more than the limit.
yup watch and see if any of your local independent toy stores have coupons (get on their mailing lists) Ours mails out $20 off coupons a couple of times a year and they are good on pretty much anything. That's how I got them for my nephews last year and I sent the coupon to VC this year.
