My soon to be SIL just asked me to be in her wedding. It's in 2 months, on the beach, very casual (which is why, she says, she "just got around to asking me. Whatever. I assume someone dropped out).
The dress needs to be gray (wtf?). And I can't do strapless. I've got a large frame and broad shoulders. I'd love short sleeves. I'd like to spend less than $200.
I struck out at Banana Republic, Loft, and Nordstrom. I have one on hold at JCrew.
I just wore an Ann Taylor dress as my Bridesmaid dress for my sister's wedding. It was true to size so no altering and it was on sale (It seems their dresses are always on sale)
Not sure how casual you want to go, so those might be too casual.
Gray is not a popular color this summer! There doesn't seem to be a lot out there...
These, I think, are too casual. Argh. I am fashionably challenged, and I was so excited that I'd already found -- and bought-- two really cute dresses for the wedding. I can't find either one in gray now.
Yes! This one was on my list... but do you think it's too boxy? I'm already fairly stocky, boy-shaped. I'm worried that this will look like a gunny sack on me.

You'd have to try it on - luckily Nordstrom has free shipping & returns. It does look like it has some shape to it though.
