For pockets, do you stuff both inserts in or just one (assuming we change every 2-3 hours)?
Does anyone have the Kawaii Blue or Mom label bamboo pockets? I just ordered a few to try and started prepping them yesterday. I am hoping DD tolerates the natural fibers because they are so cheap and trim (and have great reviews). I assume I can add a fleece liner for stay-dry feeling if needed, right?
Do BG 4.0s ever go on sale? These are my favorite pockets so far.
What does and overnight diaper look like for you? So far I am using disposables overnight because I don't want to deal with diaper changes once she goes to bed (~7pm).
How many inserts depends on the amount they pee and it really varies by kid. Some like to piddle frequently. Others like to hold it in and let it out all at once.
The best I've seen on BG is a buy 5, get one free. They are really consistent in their pricing across different resellers. You're best bet is to find some gently used, but even then they are not at that much of a discount.
Our most successful overnight when he was little was a happy hempy with extra stuffing and a wool cover. We're now doing a BG pocket with an extra hemp stuffer.
Where do you buy the hemp stuffers from? Prob a dumb question, but do they have to be the same brand insert as the brand of diaper? We also have pockets (Rumparooz, BG 4.0, Fuzzibunz, etc).
We have only used one insert during the day so far and that's been okay, but we haven't attempted CD'ing overnight yet.
I generally use just 1 MF insert for daytime; I put a doubler in his first morning diaper because it's usually a big pee. (Keep the extra Kawaii inserts, or sell some off if you have tons. I sold mine for $1 each.)
I have one Kawaii bamboo, not sure which cut. It's okay. I prefer the regular fleece pockets - the bamboo stains more and is wet on his skin.
Overnight is 1 MF, 1 bamboo, and a hemp doubler in a good night heavy wetter pocket. It's worked 12 hours for us for many months.
I like AMP hemp doublers. The brand of insert doesn't matter. Alva has nice bamboo/MF 4 layer inserts; sometimes I just use 2 of those overnight and it works fine.

Thanks! I will check them out! I've never even heard of AMP before!

You use whichever combination of inserts works. I have fuzzibunz OS . When he was 1-2 months old I just used the small insert. From 2-3 months I used the large insert. And since then I've been using both.
Can't help with the other 2 questions since we use disposables at night - he's way too heavy a wetter
ETA: I've been thinking of buying some hemp inserts too since he likes to leak through the diapers if I don't change every 1.5hrs. You can use any insert that fits in your diaper

We just use one insert for daytime, two for nighttime.
For overnights we either use a Twinkie Tush fitted with a Blueberry cover or our one Kawaii double-stuffed.

I use both inserts & we change every 2 hours. I could probably get buy with 1 insert, I just haven't tried.
I also like Kawaii Ultra Soft, they're a little cheaper than BGs.
You can get BG 4.0s at Buy Buy Baby & use a coupon. It's $14.40 with a 20% off coupon & $13 with a $5 off coupon. Also you can use Bed Bath & Beyond & BabiesRUs coupons too as long as they aren't expired.
Cotton Babies also occasionally has sales too, join their mailing list.
We use BGs and I just use one insert during the day. At night I use a flip stay-dry insert with a hemp doubler and sometimes another doubler. That combo has been working well for us. DS is 8.5 months.
Cottonbabies has buy 5 get 1 free occasionally, and earlier this year was offering another free with minimum purchase, so they do go on sale. I bought most of my dipes from CL and they have held up great.
It depends on the child. Mine was a fairly heavy wetter, so we needed 2
Nope. Yes, you can add fleece
I think they have buy 4 get one free deals fairly regularly. Or you can get them used. I have a few in my spare room right now taking up space
Once I took the leap to overnight, it was either: 1) overnight fitted and bulletproof wool or 2) BG4.0 stuffed with a triple layer of bamboo wrapped in a cloth that was like a mini prefold. Both worked well
