Do you think this person has a video game addiction:
Spends 5-6 a day playing online games (8-10+ hours on weekends) Stays up very late to play online games. Is late to work sometimes because plays online games first thing in the morning. Blows off household responsibilities because is playing video games.

This one is the main red flag to me. The others kind of depend... I rarely play anymore and I slack pretty hardcore in the housework department, heh. Playing late is really easy to do, since gaming messes with the part of your brain that makes it easy to tell time and then all of a sudden whoops it's 1am.
However, coming in late means that he's prioritizing a game over something with fairly dire real life consequences, and that crosses the line into addictive.
Replace gaming with Nesting/Proboarding and I bet there would be a few different answers here. LOL But yes, when it starts to negatively impact your life, it is an issue of concern.

That was my first thought..but I can honestly say I've never been late to somewhere because of my nesting/gbcning habit. I think that person has a problem.

the late to work thing makes me have to say yes. Without that though, you've just described pretty much everyone I know, and I wouldn't call them addicts.
