Dude. If I am on my personal cell phone and close my fucking office door? Yeah, there is probably a reason. Please don't just open the door and waltz your ass in, especially when you can clearly see what I'm doing through the window.

Yeah someone that worked at my old office would do that. And just stand there and stare at you like you need to get off the phone to help with her non-urgent question. Oh and then there was the building delivery guy who brought the Fedex and things. He'd walk in and start talking to you though he can clearly see you are on the phone. Sigh...I feel your pain Blue, that's just rude.
the docs I work with do this all.of.the.time. They either come in and plop themselves in one of my chairs or just start talking to me when I clearly have a phone (cell or desk) to my ear. I have bitten off more than a few heads in my tenure here over this.

Thanks ladies. I probably wouldn't have been so annoyed if 1) it wasn't my new boss who seems to be lacking in social skills in general, and 2) I wasn't on the phone with my RE's office discussing IVF at the time.

Ugh. That's a bad combo. I would have been so pissed!!

Cue sarcastic voice: Seriously? SERIOUSLY!??! Yeah...I would have been pissed too. Doesn't matter if the person was oblivious to the topic, respecting someone's privacy seems very basic. We recently had a memo circulated at work address this very basic stuff though, so obviously common sense isn't so common.
