Are your kids named after anyone? If so, who and why did you pick them?
C's middle name is Thomas, after my grandfather who died when I was 8. He was such a gentle, quiet guy, but loved his kids and grandkids so much. I still remember that he taught me how to use a hammer and a saw in his basement workshop and that we planted a garden together one year when I came to visit. I miss him and I wish C could have known him.

Griffin's middle name is "Ellison" which was my grandfather's name. Grayson's middle name is "Mayer" which is part of my maiden name. Gibson's middle name is "Matthew" which was DH's dad and brother's names (they both passed) and we also have 2 nephews named Matthew.

DD's middle name is my grandma's name. I've always been close to her. She recently passed away.
If we have a boy, his middle name will be my grandma's brothers name. He passed away when he was a little boy, so I never met him. She has always spoke so highly of him.

Our daughter isn't named after anyone exactly, but I've always loved Russian girl names. My name also falls into this category. 4 of the 5 letters in our names are the same, but in a different order. For the record, we both have legitimate names and they sound different. So I guess in a way she is named after me.

We will be using a B for a first name, no matter the sex of the baby, to honor DH's father. The middle name will either be with a D or a R for one of my grandmothers. We don't use names of those still living.
My mom and I share the same middle name. If this little one is a girl, she will too. Of course my best friend by the same name will tell her it's because of her.
Oddly enough, H and his dad also share a middle name so the same would be true if we had a boy. He didn't get any say in his son's name because his ex wouldn't allow (they were broken up before SS was born.)
DS is William Paul. My maternal grandfather was William and H's maternal grandfather was Paul (also H's MN.).
My grandfather was the sweetest gentlest person ever. We joked he was a saint since my grandmother is nuts, and not in an endearing way. He was so quietly thrilled DS was named after him. He picked out a baptism card almost immediately. He ended dying relatively suddenly (he was 89 and not in great health but it was stoll a surprise) when DS was 10 weeks old. I'm so glad he met DS and knew we named him after him.
DD's first name is after my Aunt Edith, who was like a mom to me. Her middle name is MIL's first name.
DS's first name was chosen because we could use the nickname Freddie, which DD chose after the kid on iCarly. His middle name is after my cousin Walt's last name and his second middle name was his original birth name.
DS's name, Martin, is my mom's maiden name. I love that it's a classic, but not overly popular, name. He has my granddad's eyes so it's just the perfect little name for him. His middle name, Albert, is a family name on DH's side. I'm not a fan but it was important to DH.
We're catholic so DD's middle name is Maria as will be for all of our girls.
Dd's middle name is Grace after her super awesome great great grandmother. My dad also called me Grace a lot growing up (on accident) because its his baby sister's name.

Have you read the book "The Fault in our Stars"? The main character is Hazel Grace...not a great plot to associate to your daughter, though. Great book though!

Yes, both my son and daughter's middle names are after someone in the family. My daugther's middle name was my paternal grandmothers birth name (she officially changed her name to a nickname at some point in her life). And my son's middle name is my husband's middle name and the name of several of our uncles. None of the family boy names are very good (well unless you want yet another William to add to the chaos) so we decided to use family names for the middle names only.

DD is named after DH's grandfather (first name) and my grandmother (middle name). DD's first name is also DH's middle name. Both grandparents were special to us.
DS1's middle name is William, which is the middle name always given to the first born son in DH's family. It's DH and FIL's middle name, and it was DH's grandfather and great-grandfather's middle name as well.
DS2 has the same initials as my maternal grandfather (they are both AJs, which is what my grandfather often went by).
DS has our last name! Wait, that hardly even counts considering it's not even a family name. DH got it from some random guy his mom dated when he was a kid.
We used FIL's name as DS' middle name. He passed away in 2010 and we decided then that if we ever had a son we'd give him fil's name. If ds' eyes stay this color they'll be exactly like fil's so it is fitting!
DS's middle name is my Dad's first name. My Dad passed away when DS was 3 months old and I am so glad he got to meet DS and knew we named DS after him.

DS is just a name we liked. Middle is my last name (I didnt change my name).
DD is named after my mom, and her grandmother. It is a very distinct Danish name that no one in the US can pronounce. I posted about it on the bump once and got unanimously told that it was awful, and please don't name my child that. We did anyway I am not going to say what it is, bc it is uncommon enough that you could easily find me.
DD's middle name is Marie, which is my middle name, a few other relatives of mine, and DH's grandma.
DD's first name is a combination of DH's legal first name (not what he goes by) and my middle name (but, it's a real name... not some crazy made up name, LOL).
DD will be named after my great-grandmother (Alice). We'd like to give her a middle name after someone on DH's side of the family but his grandmothers' names are all pretty bad (Frida, Feiga, Nellie).

In English, no. But their Hebrew names are both after family members. DD #1 is named for my maternal grandfather and DD #2 is named for my paternal grandmother.

DD's first name is Macy, whch was a surname from my dad's side of the family, a few generations ago. Her middle name is a variation of my mom's middle name.
