Layla's middle name is my H brother's first name. He died 2 yrs before Layla was born. We emmed and ahhed about whether to use a male name for a middle for a girl, but in the end we felt honouring an important person was the best choice. (Also, asked dor feedback here)

If we have a boy he will probably be Blakely Dean(both of DH's grandfathers names). If we have a girl she'll probably be Stella Elizabeth(his grandmother and my sister) but I'm scared of how popular Stella is becoming.

Abigail is named after my mom and my grandmother.
Abigail after my mom, and Elizabeth after my grandmother. Abigail is my mom's first name (and what she goes by), and Elizabeth was my grandmother's middle name.
We actually wanted to name her after her two grandmothers (which would have been Abigail Ruth), but my MIL begged us not to use her middle name for a grandchild because it has bad associations for her.
Liam is short for William, which is my grandfather's name. Him middle name (James) is both DH's grandfathers name and Harry Potter's middle name.
This baby will be Evelyn, my great grandmother's name. I just like the name, though. I never met her and she was evidently a grumpy woman. Her middle name is Hermione. Self explanatory. We're nerds.

LO is named for (in honor of) DH's uncle, but the exact name was not used by us. The middle name is the same as Uncle's mn. DS's first name is taken from DH's Uncle's nickname.
If we have more kids, they will also be named for relatives, as is Jewish custom.

My 5 yo has insisted since he found out I was pregnant that the baby needs to have a Harry Potter name--Charlie for a boy and Ginny for a girl are his picks. I think he is attracted to Charlie because the whole dragon studying thing appeals to him. (He is Henry and DS2's middle name is James, so Harry and James were already out, and he seems to understand that Albus and Severus aren't really workable. We are really glad he isn't trying to insist on Ron.)

Ha! Awesome!! I'd get along well with him. My mom thinks I'm crazy, but its not like people actually see middle names. Strong female role model.
DD's middle name will be after my Dad's mom. She passed away in 2001 and she was my best friend. She was my rock when my mom passed away when I was 18. I pray my daughter grows up to be half the women she was!
DD1 middle name is my paternal grandmothers, she passed away several years ago DD2 middle name is my maternal grandFATHERS middle name- francis/ frances. He is my favorite person in the entire world aside from my kids. DD3 middle name is my g-grandmothers, dh's grandmothers and parts of both my moms and MILs name
DD will be named after my great-grandmother (Alice). We'd like to give her a middle name after someone on DH's side of the family but his grandmothers' names are all pretty bad (Frida, Feiga, Nellie).
Haha thanks jenn - my name is one of the "pretty bad" ones you have listed I love it though.
DD is named after DH's maternal grandmother. Both of his grandparents died last year, and so when I found out I was pregnant it was a no brainer to honor them this way. It took me a long time to come around to Maisie (I thought about using her mn of Louise instead as Louisa) but once I did, I love it!! She has a "normal" mn (same as mine, after my paternal grandma) which she can use if she feels it necessary
