I couldn't get comfortable sitting - I had like back cramps and was just squirmy trying to stretch it and find a good position. My water broke three hours later.
I had some liquid like stuff leak out the morning of. Not my water breaking. My water never broke. I just started getting progressively worsening menstrual cramps, I did have to poop like every five minutes too.
Nope! I went to work the day before, went to a local baseball game with friends, walked a long way to our car and still nothing. We went home and 2 hours later I got up to pee and the leaking didnt stop.
I had some bleeding that morning but I was already experiencing contractions. No warning signs. I woke up at 4 am and could feel the contractions and I was like, oh this isn't so bad. LOLOLOL
It took me many hours to decide I was in fact in labour. I spent that day garage saleing and eating. Then around 4 pm, I'm like "these cramps are sort of coming and going... and coming and going... hmm". No signs before the cramps.

My water didn't break with either one. I just went into active labor and that was my sign. They actually had to break my water both times, it never broke on its own.

Nope, woke up at 1am with pretty strong contractions, but still wasn't sure if it was the real thing. I was so nervous to go to the hospital and have them tell me to go home, but when I got there I was 5cm, so it was real.
with DD1 it was back pain that I thought was a result of bed rest, but wasn't. I also felt like I had to pee ALL the time (turns out they were contractions). With DD2 I never really went into labor since I was induced.
Why do some OBs break your water vs. letting it break naturally? Unless there's a reason to rush along labor (high BP, etc.) why would they want to break it for you? I read that it's best to let it break naturally if you can, because once it breaks, there can be more pressure on the cord. Can someone fill me in?
I was also dilated to 5, but had been dilated since 25w. The night my water broke I had actually just texted my BFF and told her it'd probably be another week.
How many weeks were you when your water broke?
Being dilated at 25 weeks sounds so early. When do people normally start dilating a little? Were you on bed rest?

ditto token - I was induced so they broke it before starting pitocin and it turned out to be exactly what I needed and I didn't end up needing pitocin at all.
My water broke at 40w 6d when I bent over to put my shoes on. We waited 25 hours before going to the hospital hoping contractions would start on their own. Nada. Ended up with Pitocin and epidural and having a baby another 24 hours later.

Exhausted, like cant get myself off the couch exhaustion, day before labor started. Light pink when I wiped that at like 1am that morning. Contractions started for real 8am. Baby by 4:45pm. FTR, we still don't know where my water went. :/ OB tried to break it before using an internal monitor and, um, it wasn't there to break. I had no gush where it would have leaked in a rush. It's still really bizarre.

My water never broke. I woke up at 3:15 with a contraction. (much stronger than the BH contractions I'd had since 20w) I told myself if I get another one in the next 10 minutes I would get up and start timing them. Eight minutes later I started timing contractions. I finally woke up H after an hour of contractions. My contractions were 1-2 min apart at this point so he was kind of ticked I waited so long. Oops.

After months of awful constipation, I pooped all day long - like 7 times. My water broke that night. I woke up and figured, "Well, I'm up, I might as well pee since I'll have to in like 10 minutes anyway..." Stood up, gush. I thought I peed myself because I was only 36 weeks.

My water broke, but the entire day before it happened, I felt awful. Like "kill me now" awful. Severe headache, exhaustion like I've never experienced, uncomfortable everywhere. Of course I had pre-e too, so that probably made things worse.
