I mainly get them at night. I get quite a few when I'm in bed laying on my back reading, nesting, etc., as I do that in bed for a while to wind down before going to sleep.
Is there something about being on my back or being relaxed that causes an increase in braxton hicks episodes?
I rarely get them during the day unless I really have to pee, lol. It's usually 7pm or later that they occur, while on the couch or in bed.
It could just be when you're noticing them more because you're relaxed. I'm assuming you aren't having a lot of them, right? (no more than 5 an hour?) I never had them with DD2, but with DD1 they would get so horrible when I had to pee.
Not more than 5 an hour, but they can last a couple minutes which seems longer than what people have described. I bet it is that I am just more aware of them at night when I'm still.
I forgot - I do get them if I walk a ton, or if I run up the stairs at home, etc.

I also mainly felt them laying on my back. I'd tell your OB about how long they last. When mine were that long (around 20w), I found out a week later that my cervix was shortening, possibly caused by those contrax, and my OB asked me to spend most of my time laying down on my left side instead. I never had another BH or other contrax after that for my entire pregnancy once I stopped sleeping and laying on the couch on my back (but did end up on BR b/c of the shortened cervix).
Agreed. This can be normal. End of the day is more common. You are also more likely to notice them when you're not busy with other things. Definitely mention them to your OB. OB might also want to know if they improve when you lie on your left side and drink extra water, so probably worth trying those things. Also, if they become more frequent or regular, even if they're not more uncomfortable, call your OB right away (this was pre-term labor for me).
