When we were waiting for Edith, I was browsing the Waiting Child websites, and came across twins named Hennessey (boy) and Alize (girl). And it's not like you could change their names because they were three and had a seven year old brother. Who was named Jordan.

We were at H's parents church several months ago and there was a little girl named Nemesis being baptized. Nemesis!

I grew up in one of the most liberal hippy areas of the country. I had friends named Starbuck (not too bad at the time, but it must suck now), Rainbeau Mars (she has her own company now), and twins Melodie and Harmony. I knew several Stars. And a Moonbeam (who went by Katie).

One name I actually liked was Liati. Her mom was very new age. It was an acronym... Love Is All There Is.

There were others, but given the town they seemed pretty normal.

I know a little boy named Strummer (5 in 2011). His siblings are Voxie and Zildjian. I wouldn't personally use those names but I think they're kinda cool and they definitely fit the kids.

I'll just C&P my post from a while ago about some names I've encountered this year as a substitute teacher:
Whisper. This dear child did not live up to her name.

Dysyre. Translation: Desire. And aside from it being an atrocious spelling, the word itself has too much of a non platonic connotation IMO.

Speshl. Translation: Special. Need I say more on this one?

My'Trayvon'uh Translation:Add a few apostrophes, a "My" to show possession, the name Trayvon to explain who the daddy is, and an "uh" to indicate it's a girl.

Delicate. I guess it could be worse. Except it was a boy. So, no, maybe it couldn't be worse. At least it's spelled right?

La-a. Translation: LaDASHa. I'm totally kidding. No one has ever had a La-a in their class, and I dont care what your brother's girlfriend's cousin's college roommate's aunt says.
