DS has started throwing the kind of tantrums where he flops face first onto the floor and screams. Last night in the bath tub, something didn't go his way (and I'm not even sure what), and he lost his shit and went to flop face down on the the floor... except he was in the bath tub, so he dunked himself under and blew some bubbles. He then managed to pop back up and finish the tantrum sitting, while his mommy laughed at him.
I feel like I've been a pretty awesome cook lately. It feels nice (in a 1950s kind of way) to cook nice meals for the three of us. This week I've made:
-Acorn squash stuffed with sausage, onions, and sage -Fettucini Alfredo with scallops -Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and roasted broccoli -Roasted chicken with fall vegetables
Marry me!
My DH told me recently that he didn't like mashed potatoes. Who is he?
My kid is asleep in the Ergo and is covered in sour cream and onion dust.
That baby sounds delicious.
LOL!
DD is teething and has been cranky for almost two weeks. I'm so tired of it and I miss my happy baby. By the time we get home at 6pm, she is so cranky that I basically just have to try to coax some supper into her and get her ready for bed. It sucks.

My MIL is already pressuring us to make plans with her for the holidays. We told her that we were going to play it by ear this year depending if I am still pregnant or how old LO is at the time.
She then told us we were "crazy" FTP because my DH expressed concern about being a house full of people with a baby that might only be a few days old.
She said that when my DH was a baby, he participated in all the holiday celebrations.
But of course my DH was a spring baby and was 7 months old at the time.
Yesterday I was driving the kids home from school and Imagine was on the radio, so I said "Did you know the person singing is the man who married Yoko Ono?" (They love the Barenaked Ladies song "You Can Be My Yoko Ono"). DS1 was like, "You mean, John Lennon?" When I said, "You know who John Lennon is?", he replied, "Mom, everyone knows who John Lennon is." He is five.
A few minutes later we heard DS2's little voice saying "Yoko Ono, what do you see? I see a red bird looking at me..." and proceeding to recite his bizarro version of "Brown Bear, Brown Bear."

Wow, go you I routinely stretch one dinner out over multiple days, lol.

DD has had a major growth spurt and now all of her winter clothes that I bought a couple of months ago no longer fit. I went to the store and they already had the spring and summer clothes out. It's not even Christmas yet and I live in Ohio.

I just woke DH up laughing at this! Totally something my DD would do.
