My daughter (8 weeks) wakes herself up at night with gas. This only happens at night - not during the day. The dr suggested trying gas drops. What do I need to know about them? Do they work? Any side effects?

I had two very gassy newborns and found gripe water to work better than gas drops for both. When I did use gas drops I used mylicon. Didnt notice any side effects.

I used mylicon for DD, but I don't think it did anything. Mostly it just made me feel like I was doing everything I could to help her when she was miserable :-(
I think they are liquid gold. I gave them to DD with every single feeding for at least a couple months. I used the Target brand- so much cheaper than other brands and work great. I also tried Little Tummies and didn't think they worked as well (probably all in my head, I know.) I would just give the drops to DD when switching boobs during a feeding.

This was our experience too--only the Target brand worked for us.
