I know this topic is SO overdone, but I'm really struggling here. Every day I feel worse and worse, and while I haven't actually vomited yet, I dry heave all day long.
I work, plus I have 2 little ones at home to deal with. I'm hungry all.the.time. Eating carby food certainly makes me feel better, but I'm trying SO hard not to eat too much. DS2 was 9lbs, and due to his size I ended up with an emergency c-section. I want a VBAC this time, and my OB said I should be really careful about sugar intake and weight gain if I want to have another 7lbs baby like DS1.
So, aside from eating lots of carby foods that will make me gain too much weight, what can I do to allow me to function? I feel so +o( all the time.
The pdf here has some ideas: www.motherisk.org/women/morningSickness.jsp The non-Rx stuff they suggest are: – pyridoxine (vitamin B6) 25 to 50 mg every 8 h – ginger root powder, capsules, or extract up to 1000 mg/d, and – acupressure or acupuncture at acupoint P6.
Mine hasn't been TERRIBLE, but it's worse than last time and I need to eat because I'm still breastfeeding. That was my doctor's only real concern - I need to be eating for 3 and that's hard to accomplish while feeling sick. I need to get some B6 and ginger, I think.
My doctor just had me start taking 50 mg of B6 three times a day and then 25 mg of Unisom at night. It seems to be working so well so far, that yesterday I was questioning if I was even still pregnant!
