Hi! I'm 12 weeks 2 days pregnant with my first. EDD 6/25. I've been lurking for a few weeks and figured I'd say hello! We had our NT scan yesterday which looked great, just waiting for my blood work to get back.
Here's my question - When did you start wearing maternity pants? I've tried the bella band for a few pairs of jeans, but it seems to not really stay. Am I using it wrong? I picked up a few pairs of maternity jeans from Gap on Black Friday, but it seems too early to wear them. My jeans fit, but they're uncomfortable by the end of the day and my new muffin top is beyond unattractive.
I started wearing the bella band right after I got a positive test at about 5 wks. I usually pulled it up my jeans and over my stomach and then folded it down over my jeans again. (does that make sense?) That way I had more of the stretchiness to keep my jeans up while they were unbuttoned. I think I started on the maternity jeans around 8-10 weeks. It was bloat but they were SO much more comfortable. Don't worry about whether or not it's too "early" to wear them. Wear what's comfortable to you.
I went ahead and bought a pair of maternity jeans when Kohl's was having a wicked cheap sale. I wear them and I'm not that far along, my bloat was just painful.
My bloat has gone down the past couple of days so I'm wearing normal pants, but I'll get back in those maternity jeans eventually so I don't consider it a loss.

Hello and welcome! I'm just a bit ahead of you but I've been in maternity pants(mostly for work) since about 8 weeks. My dress pants were digging into my belly and it was awful. Have you tried the hair tie trick?
Wear them whenever. I will caution not to buy too many pairs of pants early, as some people have a tendency to gain weight not only in the belly. I think it's pretty normal to gain in thighs a bit, so you may need another size later on. Or not! It all depends.
Hi & welcome! I am one day ahead of you and am still wearing all my normal clothes with no problem. I feel like there is something wrong with me
Don't feel badly. At 12 weeks, you're not weird for still being in regular clothes. I was completely fine in my regular clothes until about 16.5 weeks. And then things changed literally overnight. I was great in my jeans and then BAM! I needed maternity jeans.
I've learned not to compare myself to other people during this pregnancy. I'm tall so I wasn't showing as soon, didn't need maternity jeans as soon, etc. Every body is different and will change in regards to the pregnancy at it's own rate.

Thanks imoan. I know everyone's different but sometimes you just need that reminder you know? My mom wants to buy me some maternity clothes when I'm home in 2 1/2 weeks so I'm hoping I'll need them by then (or be able to guess)

I TOTALLY know. I've been checking out the HDBD posts on here and on my BMB and it's amazing to see how much bigger people are who are the same week (or even a lot earlier) as me.

HoneySpider and imoan - I think I want to be you both!! Ha. Like I want to be that pregnant girl that doesn't look pregnant at all until at least a few more weeks which is why I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around wearing maternity pants this "early"! Also, we haven't told anyone yet (telling family next week when we're there for Christmas), so it all seems kind of "fake" to me.
Thanks everyone for all your input - appreciate it!
I love my belly band, but I also do an elastic on the button of my pants and always a tank top layered, which I think helps keep it in place? Who knows.
