Is it a huge PITA? Any tips to share?
Most of my stuff are Carter's and Target, some are Gap and similar brands. I think I will do one huge batch (like, NB to 18mo clothes plus the various carseats/swings/bouncy seats) and be done for a least a year.
There is a consignment sale here in March that I thought I'd enter. You get 70% of the final sale price and access to early-bird shopping, does that sound reasonable?

I don't find it to be a huge PITA. However, mine is a little bit different in that they pay upfront. This is great in that they give you the money immediately, but the downside is that they determine what their selling price will be, and then you get 40% of that, which is take it or leave it. Since stuff seems to multiply, I'm usually just happy to get things out of my house and get some cash for them. I also have some of his nicer things saved b/c I'm still on the fence about whether or not it's worth my time to do something like you're considering or have a garage sale where I can price things myself.
In any case, since it takes almost no effort on my part, aside from making sure things are clean, I can't complain too much so far about it. One tip I can give you is that if you want your stuff to move, price it accordingly. The list you attached seems reasonable. The place I go to I pay about $5-$6 for Gap / Gymboree jeans, $4 for Gap sweatshirts / sweaters, $2 for Carters pajamas. I think once I got DS a Janie and Jack complete outfit--overalls, shirt, jacket for like $10.
I consign and it's definitely been worth it. Just give yourself a few hours sans kids to price everything at once. It's a pain to drag all of the crap out a bunch of times.
I consign twice a year. I do all my prep in a couple of evenings prior to the sale drop off. I don't find it difficult and I get way more money than I would at a consignment shop or throwing a garage sale. Until it is sale time, I but everything that is outgrown in bins in DS's closet.
