Weekend Plans

What's everyone got planned for this weekend?

I have a 5k tomorrow. We'll see how that goes. :-P My dad is going to meet me there and hang out with the boy while I do it since my wife is working OT. I wish my SIL's GF was running with me again so I had some company, but they just closed on a house and are moving in this weekend, so obviously she can't.

I also need to finish my Christmas shopping, but I plan to try to do most of that online (in-store pick up kinds of things). Other than that I don't have any plans.

I answered on TB, but it is a low key weekend. L is going to write for her last weekend of the year, we have my work holiday party tomorrow evening, and I envision a lot of hanging out since it is supposed to be cold and rainy and every place is packed with people.

Friday: I'm leaving work early to get a nap - I'm already at 40 hours for the week. Or at least I am in theory. C and I are invited to a coworker's house for dessert and game night - I'm really looking forward to it.

Saturday: I might volunteer in the morning. I haven't been recently and feel pretty bad about it, but I've been stretched so thin. I might need to do some work, depending on how much I get done today. We'll clean some and grocery shop, and maybe go to IKEA. Will IKEA be nutso because of the holidays?

Sunday: C and I are going to the Museum of Science and Industry. They have a special Christmas exhibit and it will be packed, but C really wants to go so I'm cool with that. I might see if I can convince her to do a museum double header with the African American History Museum. Let's just say we're into different things.

Tonight -nothing much. Just some tidying up. Saturday -The grandmas are coming over for a Hanukkah brunch. I need to get into a latke making mood. We won a giftcard so we may go shopping later in the day. Sunday -maybe pictures with Santa -because we are such good Jews :-)

We have nothing set in stone. I'm thinking of ditching the wife and child and picking up a cheap seat to a concert tonight. However the cheap seat is still $65 :-(

We have to finish decorating this weekend and figure out wth we're getting people for Christmas. Oh, and we have to decide on what we're going to do to tell our family about this pregnancy. I'll be 12wks on Christmas so we figured we'd share then.

Tonight: Home to do a few chores and tidying and then head to A's and be there when she gets home from work after 3 weeks in a row with no days off for her. Thankfully she talked her boss into getting this weekend off despite the fact that nobody in her group is supposed to get any days off between now and the end of the year. They are all threatening to look for new jobs soon, it's just crazy.

Tomorrow: In the evening we have tickets to an event called Homo for the Holidays. We went last year with a group of friends (before we were a couple) and both of us laughed our asses off. We're having dinner with friends before the show.

Sunday: We are supposed to meet a guy who will do alterations to a jumpsuit for me for skydiving. A just got invited to a party for friends who got married last Sunday and we are torn between that and spending some "us" time. Either way I'm just looking forward to a weekend with my girl!

I posted on TB, but I'm looking forward to mostly relaxing with a bit of work and some errands thrown in. Mostly it will be a low-key weekend, especially compared to last weekend!

Just doing some dishes and a little cleaning. The owners of my apartment complex are sending people to install new smoke/carbon monoxide detectors this coming week.
Living alone has its perks, like being your own housewife.
