I am pretty sure that I have the cutest and sweetest kids on the planet. THE PLANET. I have met approximately .00000000001% of the Earth's current population, and I consider that a representative sample. They're just - I can't get over them. I can't get over how much easier and more fun they are now than they were a few months ago. Watching them play and making them laugh is the best.
I'm really proud of how Jen is doing with her job search. It has been TOUGH but she is so upbeat and she really believes in herself and is looking for just the right thing instead of casting all over and being willing to accept whatever comes along. She's also doing a great job with the kids and the house while I temp, and she could not be more supportive and appreciative of me.
The dogs do a really good job of not eating the children, or even snapping at them despite the fact that leg-grabbing and tail-pulling has already started.
I really long for the day I can post "the cats are not eating my children".
But seriously...we have two cats. One of them really is the jester of the house. She's the laziest cat ever, and she frequently leans up against the wall rather than supporting her own weight. punkrockabye thought this was the funniest thing she had ever seen when she visited last weekend, and I tend to agree.
The girls have been great lately, making pretty good choices and playing so well together. Apple is a ham with her dancing, she always cracks me up. Owl has made such progress with food, she generally eats really well now, I am so happy. Iz is at the top of her class, she is so smart. Alila has been so helpful and kind, she is a wonderful kid.
Jess did an awesome job surprising me for my birthday, I didn't expect her to do anything and she was so sweet about it all. Although we've had our ups and downs she has been apologizing when she knows she's at fault, she isn't one to apologize so this is big for our relationship.
I will AW my cat since I'm a cat person. Cookie has been really lovey lately and wants to be inside more often than not. She jumps onto my lap and snuggles in for a nap, let's the kids pet and tug at her without a complaint, and pets her face on any body part she can reach.

C has been amazing! The past few days I've been napping in the late afternoon and evening and then feeling queasy (not quite full-blown nausea, but just gross/blah/on the verge). She's been so sweet and thoughtful, doing extra chores, and asking if I need anything. She and I went to the nurse intake/education appointment today and she was so funny and asked some cute questions -- which I totally take for granted that I know so much more, but sometimes she surprises me with the things she's picked up over the years. She is the perfect balance of excited and grounded/realistic and has such a calming effect for me. I also love, love, love that last night when we were talking about the baby -- one of the first times really talking about it -- she rested her hand on my low belly. Adorable!
