How is L's writing coming along? Is she still on target to finish in spring? Where is she at? Is she getting feedback from her committee on her chapters? I know for K that was what took forever. I hope it's moving along quickly!

She's turned in the entire thing. She got feedback on ch 1-5 and is working on those edits now - she will turn it in before the end of year and expects to get chapter 6 back after the new year and do those edits (which she thinks will be more extensive.)

Her defense is scheduled for Feb 28 (though he committee is pushing her to postpone it to March to give them more time.) She is really pushing back because she wants it done before her birthday (March 1.) The end is in sight!

(and of course now that she is finishing, being home with the kids along all weekend is much less exhausting/frustrating/difficult than it was when she started the dissertation!)

Wow, that's great! I'm glad she has the bulk of it done. Now, as soon as it is officially done, you hand her the kids, get in the car and take off for a weekend of your own ;-)

I've been debating hopping a flight to FL to visit my BFF - but it is going to depend on $$. And really, I am not as burned out as I was. Having 2 relatively self sufficient kids makes it so much better!
