For all you seasoned moms who have traveled with infants....any tips/hints for me? Or things I may not have thought of? I will make sure to pack enough diapers, wipes, formula, changes of clothes, etc. Once we are up there I will most likely go to the store to buy more diapers, wipes, formula as I don't want to have to pack what we will need for the whole trip. I would need an extra suitcase just for the little one!
Also in the airport we plan to put him in a carrier so that we have our hands free therefore we are not traveling with a stroller or infant seat. Trying to make things as easy as possible.
I was just curious about anything you may have run into while traveling that would be helpful for me as a first timer. Thanks!
You seem to have it pretty well covered! Allow yourself plenty of time. Zoe was 4 months old when we first took her on a plane - all the way out to CA, and we had connecting flights. We are fast, easy travelers, and Zoe really slowed us down way more than expected.
And remember, it will never be this easy to travel with your baby again! The older she gets, the harder it is. :drink:
I also remembered something that happened to us....pack an extra shirt for you and H. Zoe spit up all over my H and his shirt smelled like baby spit up for half our flight lol!

Lila was around a year on her first flight and it was horrible. I will tell you that it was nice having her car seat with us because the flight was not full and we were able to strap it to a seat and buckle her in. For us, she was fussy the entire flight until about 15 mins before we landed, when she finally fell asleep.
I saw an idea on Pinterest to make little gift bags and place them on each seat surrounding you, explaining that this was your child's first flight and you are so sorry for any disturbances. This isn't the exact one, but it's a nice gesture The other bag I think included ear plugs... media-cache-ec4.pinterest.com/upload/256986722458428984_wBfuLjiY.jpg

We flew several times with Beckett as an infant and had no problems. Maybe we were just lucky, but he always slept on the majority of the plane ride when he was small. It gets harder when they get bigger and want to run around.
Sounds like you have it pretty well covered on what to bring. Maybe a blanket? And definitely a change or 2 of the clothes for him. B rarely had blowouts, and he had a major one right before we were about to board. An empty plastic bag would be handy for soiled clothes in the event you do have a situation like that. And offering a bottle/pacifier at takeoff seems helpful too.
