My H has definitely become more appreciative and understanding of everything I do, but I still love days like today where I laugh a little at him.
He went out last night even though he knew I was working today and he would be on full time Dad duty. I let him sleep until 9am (I started work at 10) He bundled the baby up to do some last minute shopping and she fell asleep for her morning nap in the stroller so he had time to look around and buy some things. But then she didnt nap in the afternoon. He was so looking forward to napping at the same time but today she decided not to sleep! She sat playing by herself so he closed his eyes, but she was in front of him in an instant pulling his eyelids open!
When I got home at 6pm, he was so tired, the house was a disaster and he was begging me to take over. I asked if he emptied the dishwasher, finished the laundry or thought about dinner. He looked like he was going to cry. But he did have the look of 'how do you do this?" And a little more appreciation for me.
And really cute, he had put her hair in little barettes. He usually claims all thumbs on that. It was cute to think of Daddy doing baby's hair.
That's so cute, I love the barrettes! I'm glad YH has more appreciation for you.
DS is always a perfect angel for DH for some reason 8-D Makes me feel like shit for being tired/frustrated/overwhelmed/insert normal mommy emotion here. When DH is watching him, DS takes long naps, eats his food, and plays contentedly on his own. Whenever I ask DH how things went he's always like "oh great! He napped until [insert ridiculously long time here], he ate all his breakfast, we took a walk, and now he's playing with his cars while I tidy up." I want to be like "WHAT'S YOUR SECRET?!? No fair!" Gah!
And I'm with you supergreen. Dh let me sleep in Saturday morning, and when I got up ds was happy, had had breakfast and the kitchen and bathrooms were cleaned from the explosion i'd left them in. I told dh he should be the SAHP because he's obviously in on some secret that I'm missing.
