So Squirms starts daycare in two weeks, she is only going on Wed/Thur. Sending a canister of formula to daycare for her to make the bottles seems like it might be a hassle since she won't go through a whole canister in the 8 days a month she is in daycare. I don't want to shuttle an open canister back and forth.
I have the little formula inserts for the tommee tippee bottles I use on the go, and I could send several of those made up for each day I guess. I'm just not really sure how many to send.
How do/did you go about sending formula to daycare?

We just sent a canister to daycare.
Could you save an empty can, pour half a can (or whatever amount they'd need plus a little extra just in case) of formula from a can you're using at home, into the empty can, and just send that. So, just send half cans to daycare so she's using all of it and you're not worrying about bringing formula all the time.
I made the bottles in the AM (sometimes night before) and they kept them refrigerated. I also left a couple formula packets in her cubby in case she was extra hungry some day.
I'm pretty sure if you send formula to my center, it has to be pre-made and in the bottles already. Same with breast milk, but I have also heard that they will accept single servings frozen.

my twins were on there 2 days/week - i just left a canister for them there... it doesn't go bad fast or anything- why stress over it? Just leave a canister.
The daycare my daughter went to also required that everything be premixed and in bottles brought in each day. They did allow me to keep 2 ready to feed bottles at the daycare as backup just in case.
I sent three Tommee Tippee bottles with the inserts with the formula already measured out. I did it every day. They told me that if I wanted to bring a canister, they were happy to measure it out themselves. I just felt better doing it every day, as opposed to leaving it there.

This is what we did (or tried to do anyway). I just left two 6oz jars of the ready-to-eat formula there in case he had a day where he got especially hungry. Our daycare would only take ready-made bottles, they won't mix it.
Save one of your old cans. Open a new can and put some powder in the old can. Or buy smaller cans so that it will get used up. Just send what she'll need so it doesn't expire there before it's used. They'll tell you when they need more.

my understanding is once a canister is opened you must use it within a month.
