I spent yesterday by the pool and forgot to reapply my sunscreen. Now I have a major sunburn. Ouch. It made my 6-miler this morning a little more painful. I'm debating whether or not to drive to Target and pick up some aloe.
Get Soothe-a-Cain by Banana Boat. It's a blue gel and it's sooo soothing! It's nice and cool on your skin, has aloe, and has numbing stuff. Put it on constantly and you won't even peel. This is the only thing I'll use when I get a sunburn. It's awesome!
I love anything with lidocaine in it. I usually buy the Solarcaine or CVS brand sprays. A cold shower will help, too. Stay well hydrated. Drink lots of ice water, and wear clothes that are soft.
As strange as this will sound...full fat sour cream. I got fried a few weeks ago, and someone told me about leaving sour cream on the burn for 15 minutes, then washing off with cool water. I was desperate enough to try it, and it actually worked (and felt really awesome). It's a little bit of a mess, but it was worth it. My burn was almost completely gone after a day and a half.
