I just started lifting with a trainer this week and I feel like I've been hit by a mac truck. Please tell me I won't always be this sore. I've spent the last two days trying to figure out how to pee standing up!
My question, is there something I should be doing/eating/supplements before or after my workout that would make me less sore?
Does it get better as I build up a base like with C25K?
When I was doing my session I felt so light headed, what should I eat prior to my next session so I won't feel like passing out? It was nice temp and I was well hydrated so those factors shouldn't play into it.
Any info. is always appreciated!! Have a great weekend. . .
Definitely do some "active recovery." As the PP said, go for an easy walk. You shouldn't breathe hard. The idea is to just get blood flowing to your muscles to aid in their recovery. Don't do anything your normally don't do (ex. if you've never done yoga, now is not the time to start b/c it will still make you sore).
It will get better. Soreness is normal. The best thing to do it is to stay active--go for a walk, stretch, do some yoga.
Eating before workouts is something individual that you have to experiment with, but if you felt light-headed, tell your trainer and stop.
Thanks Brie I did tell her I was feeling light headed and she let me rest. She told me that it was common for people just starting out. I felt weak and silly but she was understanding. I have a stretching video that I incorporated into my running training so maybe I'll do that and it will help.

Thanks for the input Sadlebred. I've never done yoga before so I will skip that and walk and stretch.
