I'm heading down to the Bolder Boulder. I'm qualified in a kick ASS wave (like 45:00-46:00 awesome), but since I haven't really been running or training much, I'm thinking I might drop down a few waves in the morning. Or maybe not and just go for it.
I don't think I've ever been so "un-goaled" for a race before.
Me, 10 k, flat course, though ive never done well at this race. And so its going to be 90 and humid to orrow, guaranteeing that the strak will continue. So yay.
My brotheris running the 5k, his first race, im psyched for him.

my best races are the ones without a goal, or that i am just doing for "fun". maybe your goal should just be to have a well-paced race? you know, attempt to strike the balance where you dont go out too fast, but you dont end with too much extra gas.

I am doing the same race, but in a much, much, much slower wave. I signed up for this one to be a "fun" race, planning on taking pics and enjoying what I hope is a major freak/fun show. My expectations are Bay to Breakers high, so I don't know....but since I missed that 10k earlier this month I may just race it instead to set an automatic PR. Guess I will figure it out when I get there!
I did a local 5k back home this morning. It was tons of fun even with the heat and humidity! The route went around a few blocks of the city and then through a beautiful old cemetery. They start the race by shooting a cannon. I was not prepared for that!
