I have pretty dry skin but I am still prone to break outs and I have extremely sensitive skin (to the point where some cleaners burn and leave my face red and blotchy). Any recommendations?
I highly recommend CeraVe hydrating wash for your skin. I have sensitive combination skin and it works great for me. It's also what my dermatologist recommends for most people. It is very gentle, will help hydrate your skin, but cleanses well enough for acne prone skin.

Cetaphil, Dr. Bronners Almond Castile Soap (use as body soap too). For a while I washed my face with yogurt, but I don't do that much more anymore. There's a book called Natural Beauty by Dawn Gallagher that I really like that has lots of natural washes, and some specifically for sensitive and/or drive skin. I do not like the new edition as much as the old one. You can get the old one for $1 on Amazon. At least you could at one point.
I have to laugh at this post because I have dry skin also and hated Cerave, Cetaphil, and Purpose. They were extra drying for me!
Something that I didn't realize until I once bought the wrong Cetaphil is that there are multiple types of each product. Did you use the Cetaphil that was thick and milky, or was it a clear thick-ish liquid? Same with CeraVe. For combo or dry skin, you need to use Cetapil Gentle Skin Cleanser (the white, milky one). I once accidentally bought the Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser, which is in a nearly identical bottle but is a clear, thick liquid, and it dried out my combination skin. The CeraVe for combination or dry skin is the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser. It is also white and thick-ish - very similar to the Cetaphil. CeraVe also makes a Foaming Facial Cleanser, which is for normal to oily skin. The hydrating cleanser is for dry to normal.
I really can't imagine the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser or the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser drying out the skin. Purpose, on the other hand, is a great product, but is not hydrating like the former products and does dry my skin out. It is what I used as a teen, though, because my skin was very oily and not as sensitive as it is now.
I also like Cerave's face washes. I usually use the hydrating cleanser in the winter when my skin is more dry and then the foaming cleanser in the summer.
I have also had good luck with Origins Checks and Balances.
I use cetaphil, but like a previous poster mentioned, there are two different kinds and their names are really similar.
I use the gentle skin cleanser (the milky looking one). It's the one that you could use without water if you needed to. I find the daily cleanser burns my skin.
I haven't tried CeraVe but I've heard good things!
