I started at the beginning when I woke up early this morning, and I'm hoping to hit 3k before I turn in tonight. I need to build up my word count since my mom is in town and I won't get much writing done this weekend!
I wrote almost 1200 last night after midnight to build up some kind of cushion if I get behind. Tonight I'm going to write another 1600, but I think I need to reevaluate how I'm approaching the opening scene.
Ugh, I know editing is the biggest pit fall, but it's haaaaaaard.
I used to have a post-it note on my computer monitor in college that said "The perfect is the enemy of the good." I think that just about sums up the attitude I need to adopt for this challenge.

I struggled with the beginning for a while but finally found something I could build off of. I only have about 5 paragraphs but I intend to catch up now that I know where I'm going.
This is definitely how I feel. The worst part is that I'm working on a sequel, so it's not like I have to figure out my characters or plot- they're already made! I always start off slow though, so I'm not too worried. Yet.
I don't know how I didn't see any of these posts before. I have decided to join you folks. I started about an hour ago an I have come up with about 300 words. It's late so I will really start tomorrow. I still need to figure out my plot an the rest of it but I started setting the scene for an idea I have had for months. (Have always wanted to write a book but never finished any of my ideas)

Okay, I finally did it. 1850 words, two glasses of wine, and three chocolate chip cookies.
I started at the beginning...I think. I'm not loving the story, and I keep vacillating between two paths I think it could take. But, hey, I sat down and wrote something!
Trying for #3; FET 8/18 -- BFN. Leaving things up to chance for now... After three years, three IVFs, and two FETs, we finally have our miracle babIES!
