So I am doing a half marathon next second (will be my 2nd). Yesterday I had planned to run 10 miles but between the heat and humidity and my calves cramping up horribly it just wasnt going to happen, I ran 4 and walked about 2.5. I have been running 10 miles a week since the end of march with a few 11s in there so I know I should be good for next week but I worry that two weeks inbetween long runs will be too much. Should I try to do 10 tomorrow or what distance should I do?

Two weeks between long runs should be fine - did you not taper before your last half marathon? Most people find they perform better on fresher legs. I did 10 2 weekends ago for my half on the 3rd.
I would try to do 6 this weekend and call it good if I were you.

Honestly I think it's a crap shoot. What will give you the most confidence? Running the 10 tomorrow or resting? There is more than enough time to recover from a ten mile run in that amount of time if you wanted to do it. I just would absolutely make sure you get it done tomorrow and run at the top of your pace range.

I do 10 the weekend before a half, and take the rest of the week very easy - but if it takes you a few days to recover from a 10miler then I would do 6-8 and do some easy miles during the week.

I think you have to find what works for you. What do your legs normally feel like after a ten mile run? What's going ton give you the most confidence? Do you think you won't experience the same problems with cramping and heat today? I'm like stingsharkruns, I run 10 the weekend before, and then just short runs during the week.
