We're paying over $500 (estimated) tomorrow to have people come in and clean our rental home before we hand over the keys.
About half of that is for carpet cleaning, which is required done by a professional per our lease agreement, but the other half is just cleaners to come in and do exactly what DH and I could do on our own, if we felt like it and wanted to spend all day doing it.
The cleaners do guarantee that their cleaning will satisfy our landlords.

Why is this a confession? Many people here have cleaning ladies and the last thing I would want to do around the holidays is deep clean my old house. Enjoy knitting knowing they are taking care of it.
Huh. Our regular cleaning service is $90. Over $500 for a move-out cleaning felt pricey, but we just don't want to do it ourselves. (our cleaning stuff is all packed up, too - the vaccuum, mops, rags, etc)
We did the same the last time we moved and I will NEVER do a move out clean again. Best money I ever spent. We only paid $125, but we didn't have any carpet.
