I shit you not. A couple that we were friends with and their 3 kids. I stopped by to check on the house this afternoon, and they have completely moved in. No one was there. My lawyer's office was already closed, I'm calling first thing in the morning.
I'm speechless. The wife had posted on fb recently about money problems. I can't even believe it. I'm wondering what he's told them about the situation. I exchanged a few nice fb messages with the wife 2 months ago, so I'm guessing they don't know that I still own the house and am paying the mortgage.
Update- spoke to lawyer, there's basically nothing I can do, since they have the permission of one of the owners to be there. OMG.

hell no. burn that fucker down and collect the insurance money. Where do I need to road trip to, Bern? Can you contact the fmaily and find out if they are paying rent? Get them to pay YOU directly? He needs his ass kicked.
If I am correct, he is living there and you are paying the entire mortgage, right? How is it that he can do this? MD laws are so freaking messed up. Why don't you move back in and kick him out?
***I could have you completely confused with someone else though.

I'm guessing you kept paying the mortgage so you wouldn't ruin your credit and there was no forcible way to remove him from the house since his name is on it also? So when you do finally divorce what will happen with the house, will you get a larger share of any profit since you paid more? Sorry if you've explained this before.
